Thank you to the children, parents, family members, friends, and co-workers that made this year an incredible journey. We began the year asking how we were all connected and created this board to represent what we had in common. Throughout this year we have created and developed new connections through our learning. From learning about the disappearance of bees; the importance of our connection with water; learning about different people around Canada; sharing our own artifacts and their personal meanings; developing skills to work with others; generating a love of learning and reading; these are al the successes we experienced this year. I have been privileged to teach and learn from your children this year. I hope as children and families you spend part of your summer continuing to learn about ideas and topics that motivate all of you to engage with the world. Enjoy your time as a family this summer and I look forward to seeing your children at Edgemont school next year. Tomorrow students have work that needs to be returned to class. On Tuesday we sent home a document for students to record a typical day in their lives. This is the document: Please make sure this work is completed and at school tomorrow, Thursday, June 9. The criteria for success, or the information that needs to be included in this work are the below. Criteria for Success: - 8 details (e.g. what I do before I go to school, what I do in the morning after I wake up, etc.) - write down and add details to what I eat for one meal (breakfast, lunch, or dinner) - 3 details of things I do after school (these can be counted in the 8 details for the entire day) - a wake-up time and a bed time We look forward to sharing our days with each other tomorrow and thank you for your support in helping us complete this work. - Grade Two Students We are continuing with our final project bringing together our Canadian communities we have been learning about. We went to the 4Cats Art Studio and created stunning splatter art that represents the four parts of Canada. This art is now hanging in our school. We are also beginning to research about a day in the life of children around the world.
