Did you know 41% of the people who use the Calgary food bank are children?
On December 1 the grade one and grade five students are launching an Edgemont school food bank drive to support the Mayor's food drive. We are hoping to raise enough food to “Fill the Foyer” of the school and will then donate the food to the Calgary Food bank. Our food drive will run from Dec. 1 to Dec. 15. Your donation of a healthy, non-perishable food item helps a child grow and stay healthy. Donating items that are found in the Canada Food Guide (click the link) is a great idea and the food bank is especially in need of peanut butter and pasta. When you bring your donation to class, your teacher will give you a small card so that you can write about why you chose to donate. These will be displayed along with the collected food. Think about your donation, if you wouldn’t eat it, don’t donate it. Thank you for making a difference and donating to those who need it most. Thank you for your donations! -Written by the students in Rm.25- Comments are closed.
